What ID do I need for notarization? A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID — driver's license, passport, or state ID.
Do you travel outside the Houston area? Yes! I do travel beyond my standard service area. The fee is based on distance and circumstance — just reach out with your location and I'll quote you a fair price.
Can you notarize documents for someone who can't travel (hospital, assisted living, homebound)? Yes — I regularly visit hospitals, assisted living facilities, and homebound clients. Just share the details when you book so I can plan accordingly.
Do you offer notary services in Spanish or other languages? I speak English. For clients who need translation, I'm happy to work alongside a translator you provide or use a tool like Google Translate to make sure everything is clear — just let me know ahead of time so I can plan for the extra time that may take.
What's your booking deposit and cancellation policy? A $20 booking deposit is required to reserve your appointment and is applied toward your total service cost. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel, reschedule with less than 2 hours' notice, or no-show.
What documents do you notarize? Power of Attorney, affidavits & sworn statements, wills & trusts, medical directives, parental/travel consent forms, and more — just ask if you don't see your document type listed.
Do I need witnesses for my document? Some documents (like certain wills or powers of attorney) require witnesses in addition to notarization. I can advise you on general requirements, but it's best to confirm with your attorney or the institution requesting the document, and arrange your witnesses in advance — as your notary, I'm not able to also serve as a witness.
How far in advance should we book? One week's notice is ideal so I have time to prepare a ceremony that feels personal to you — but I understand not every love story runs on a calendar. I do accommodate same-day requests when my schedule allows.
Do you handle the marriage license paperwork? Yes — I'll complete and sign the officiant portion of your Texas marriage license and make sure it's properly returned to the county clerk.
Can we get married the same day we get our marriage license? Texas requires a 72-hour waiting period between when your marriage license is issued and when the ceremony can legally take place, unless you qualify for an exception (active-duty military, a judge's waiver, or a completed state-approved premarital course). I can often accommodate a same-day booking for my services, but your license itself may still be subject to this waiting period — so if you're planning a same-day wedding, check with your county clerk first to make sure your license and ceremony date line up.
Do you travel outside Houston for ceremonies? Yes! Travel fee is based on distance and circumstance — reach out with your venue location for a quote.
What's your retainer and cancellation policy? A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date, as it holds your wedding day exclusively for you. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the ceremony forfeit the retainer and any additional payments made toward the ceremony fee.
Do you offer religious or secular ceremonies? I can craft a ceremony to reflect your beliefs and style — traditional, secular, spiritual, or entirely custom. Just share your vision and I'll write something true to you.
Can you perform ceremonies in Spanish or other languages? I speak English. For couples or guests who need translation, I'm glad to work alongside a translator or use a tool like Google Translate to help communicate — just let me know in advance so we can plan the ceremony accordingly.
